WINNIPEG, Man. – Bison Transport has launched a new refrigerated division that will provide transborder and domestic services for shippers within Canada.

The new division will complement Bison’s existing dry van and heated van trucking services while also providing additional capacity for new and existing clients, the company has announced.

Don Streuber, president and CEO of Bison announced “Bison’s expansion into the refrigerated marketplace is our response to new growth opportunities, and reflects our commitment to continue to provide customers with exceptional service and capacity.

“We expect to build this new division with the same strategy that has guided us for the past 35 years…aggressive, planned and controlled, profitable growth.”

The refrigerated division will provide regular and expedited delivery of meat and meat products, fresh and frozen foods, beverages, consumer products and other commodities to points within Canada and the U.S.

The operation will be based out of Bison’s existing Winnipeg headquarters, the company announced.

Currently, Bison operates more than 750 power units and 1,600 trailers.
