Border Reefer Madness

Dear Editor:

I’m a Canadian trucker who has delivered into the U.S. for years, but now with increased security concerns at U.S. border, I have been denied entry for a pot possession conviction in 1977.

There are many truckers who have been denied for old convictions on both sides. Maybe a review of our plight would allow some of us who have been back and forth without causing any trouble to regain our stature and once again be proud to serve our nations.

Truckers are proud of what they do, and they are proud of their country.

To be denied entry for old convictions does not make us proud, just unemployable. Many are hoping someone will look into this situation, I am one.
