Carriers aren’t being honest
Dear Editor,
I was just reading the August issue again and came across the story of what has to be done to attract new candidates into trucking careers.
The truckers all have the right ideas, but how do you get carriers to listen and do them? Don’t these companies realize that the more an owner/operator makes without running himself or herself ragged, the better the company looks?
I guess not, because the rates are still low.
My husband took a load and, a week later, found out we only got $79 minus the fuel.
Every time we ask what a load pays, the companies either lie or say they don’t know.
We know it gets costly to switch companies because we did that five times within a year just to find a truly honest carrier. But we haven’t found one yet.
