LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Castrol’s Tection Extra 15W-40 diesel engine oil is being introduced to the owner/operator market through truck stops, retail shops and auto parts suppliers. The announcement was made at the Mid-America Trucking Show. Previously, the engine oil was only supplied to fleets and off-road customers.

“Now owner/operators can get the same protection and superior products that we’ve been providing to fleet and off-road users,” announced Karla DelGallo, brand manager, consumer truck for BP Lubricants USA. The company says the oil offers viscosity protection, reducing the side effects inherent with viscosity loss such as reduced engine life, increased oil consumption and decreased wear protection.

“BP Lubricants USA has always formulated its engine oils for maximum shear stability, as this is a critical measure for engine protection,” explained Mike Lynskey, heavy-duty engine oil product technology manager with BP Lubricants.

The company says its Castrol Tection Extra oil has superior dispersancy which helps manage the high soot levels produced by today’s engines. For more information, visit www.castrol.com
