TRURO, N.S. – The Day & Ross Transportation Group has acquired Oceanside Carriers, a full load, flat bed and auto carrier company, from Lyle Davidson.

Oceanside Carriers has about 30 trucks on the road and employs company drivers and owner/operators.

“Our acquisition of Oceanside is an excellent fit for the Day & Ross Group,” said John Doucet, Group president and CEO.

“Oceanside will provide our Frastrax Transportation Division a base in Nova Scotia and will complement the Fastrax operations in the Maritimes. This continues our strategy of establishing regional bases of operation,” he added.

The company will continue to operate as Oceanside Carriers under the management of Davidson who has agreed to remain with the firm.

“I’m looking forward to working with the new partners in the business,” said Davidson. “I think we will work well together.”

Davidson will be directly responsible to Brian Murray, president of Fastrax.
