MASSTOWN, N.S. – Forty-three Atlantic Canada drivers participated in the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association’s 2003 Professional Truck Driving Championships.

The winners for the two-axle class were:

1st Place: Sandy Cooke, Armour Transportation Systems

2nd Place: Ron Mattinson, Roy B. Mattinson and Sons Trucking

3rd Place: Roy Mattinson, Roy B. Mattinson and Sons Trucking

Professionalism: Brian Upham, Armour Transportation Systems

The winners for the four-Axle Class were:

1st Place: Troy MacLean, Armour Transportation Systems

2nd Place: Donald Umlah, Unique Personnel Services

3rd Place: Malcolm Matthews, Unique Personnel Services

Professionalism: Ron Leopard, Advantage Personnel

The winners for the five-Axle Class were:

1st Place: Jeff Tooker, Eassons Transport Ltd.

2nd Place: John Sweeney, Midland Transport Limited

3rd Place: Terry Ritchie, Sunbury Transport Limited

Professionalism: Alan Constantine, Armour Transportation Systems

The Rookie of the Year award went to John Sweeney, and the Team award went to Armour Transportation Systems. n
