NEW WESTMINSTER, B.C. -Overland has begun new, regularly scheduled, overnight trucking and courier services for freight and parcels moving to all the major communities throughout the B.C. Kootenays, from the Okanagan Valley, B.C.’s Lower Mainland and Alberta.

The new Kootenay services also include deliveries to more than 570 other towns and cities serviced by Overland in southern British Columbia and Alberta.

“This is our first expansion into the Kootenays,” said Claus Jensen, president of the family- owned company.

The LTL carrier also handles truckload, messenger, hot-shot and flatdeck services.

“We are providing overnight LTL, skids and courier delivery between the east and west Kootenays; we’re making early next-morning deliveries in the west Kootenays for shipments coming from Okanagan Valley towns, like Vernon, Kelowna and Penticton, and next-afternoon deliveries from there to towns in the East Kootenays,” he said. “We are also making early next-morning deliveries in the west Kootenays for shipments coming from Greater Vancouver – particularly Richmond, Burnaby, Langley, Coquitlam, Surrey and, of course, Vancouver itself. Shipments destined for the east Kootenays from Greater Vancouver are delivered during the afternoon of the day after they are shipped.

“We are also providing two-day service to the Kootenays from Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver Island.”

Overland also has regularly scheduled routes between British Columbia, Washington State and Oregon.

Alpine Express, a sister company, will deliver hand-held packages in major western Kootenay communities such as Nelson, Grand Forks, Castlegar, Trail and the like. And strategic partner Cranbrook Parcel will be used for courier and LTL deliveries to east Kootenay communities – Cranbrook, Kimberley, Fernie, Elkford, Invermere, Radium Hot Springs, Golden and Creston. n
