Food industry plans its 10th championships

TORONTO, Ont. – Drivers in Canada’s food industry will converge on the Toronto Congress Centre on Sept. 8 and 9 for the 10th annual Canadian Food Industry Truck Driving Championship.

The three-part competition includes a written examination, pre-trip inspection and obstacle course. First prize includes $500 and a chance to compete in the 2000 North American Food Industry Truck Driving Championship in Minneapolis, Minn., from Oct. 20 to 21.

The competition is limited to 60 drivers, while $150 registration costs include admission, a welcome reception, the driving competition and awards reception and banquet.
