Garden City mess

Dear Editor,

With regards to trucknews.com’s story, Repairs coming to Garden City Skyway, I’d like to add that poor planning has narrowed the lanes to little over one lane during daylight hours.

This created chaos when an over-dimensional load was permitted to travel that route on Mar. 20 and got hung up on the barriers. I was there as an oversized-load escort and let me tell you, someone in the Ministry of Transportation (of Ontario) is in deep doo-doo for restricting the lanes before dusk.

We will soon have to travel miles out of our way to bypass these construction sites. It’s an exercise in “How to make a long day even longer.”
