TORONTO, Ont. – Paul and Steve Harper, co-owners of Harper Group, the parent company to Harper Detroit Diesel, have announced a change to both the name and identity of Harper Detroit Diesel. The 60-year-old company will now operate under the name of Harper Power Products.

“This change is a bold step forward and allows us to develop an image that transcends the various market segments we are involved in,” said John Cosgrove, president and chief operating officer of Harper Power Products.

The company now offers additional service locations as well as a broader range of products and services in numerous markets and vocational applications.

Harper Power Products is the authorized distributor in Ontario for Detroit Diesel and Mercedes-Benz on-highway engines; Detroit Diesel, MTU and Mercedes-Benz off-highway engines; DDC/MTU Power Generation generator sets; and Allison transmissions. They also represent Perkins and Volvo Penta engines, RigMaster auxiliary power units and a full complement of genuine replacement vehicle parts.

The newly named Harper Power Products will continue to operate its network of six fully-equipped parts and service locations across Ontario, as well as its new and expanding network of regional service centres under the new name.

“We may be changing our name but the service and support excellence we are known for will not change,” Cosgrove said.
