Hendrickson brings benefits to rear-discharge tankers

Hendrickson says its introduction of the raised-centre Intraax model extends all the benefits of an integrated trailer suspension system to operators running this configuration on rear-discharge tankers.

The Intraax weighs in at about 100 pounds lighter than previous models while the axle connections have been strengthened, according to Hendrickson.

Following a phased launch, the system will offer 23,000- and 25,000-pound capacity models for 77.5 and 71.5-inch tracks in top-mount configurations and a range of ride heights from 13.5 to 19 inches.

The system includes a standard Cam Tube System to reduce S-cam maintenance and tight axle tolerances to help stretch fuel mileage and tire life.

Fleets and owner/operators can also customize their Intraax systems with a selection of Ready-to-Roll options, including an automatic tire inflation system, a long-life wheel end, HLS (Hendrickson Long-Life System) and HXS (Hendrickson Extended Service) brakes.
