MARKHAM, Ont. – Highland Transport, one of Canada’s largest truckload carriers, has joined the increasing number of fleets to launch an in-house logistics company.

“Highland has always been a customer focused company,” says president Norm Sneyd.

“By providing a third party logistics service to our customers, we further build on our focus and commitment.”

Highland Logistics will also provide logistics services to non-Highland customers throughout North America.

These services include, full truckload and less-than-truckload shipments, freight forwarding, intermodal, ocean and air freight as well as warehousing and distribution functions.

Highland Logistics also offers end-to-end, customized, third party consulting services.

The company, with facilities in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver will be the responsibility of Jim Hale-Sanders, a well known transportation industry veteran, who has signed on as the general manager.

“It is my intent to make Highland Logistics a force to be reckoned with in the marketplace,” says Hale-Sanders, who will be based in the company’s head office in Markham, Ont.
