WINNIPEG, Man. – The second phase of the Hwy. 59 expansion to four lanes will include better flood protection measures in the Grande Pointe area.

The work involves the construction of four lanes along a new route running south from the Red River Floodway to south of Mondor Road.

Construction of the Seine River diversion along the east ditch to the floodway will begin with the grading of the highway site and ditch. The elevated lanes will function as a dike in the event of future flooding. n
