WARRENVILLE, Ill. – International says its PayStar family of trucks are now 60% quieter inside the cab thanks to a new sound insulation package that comes standard on the PayStar 5900 and as an option on the 5500 and 5600.
“Our world-class engineering team is constantly working on enhancements to International’s line of severe service trucks to make them more durable, reliable and, in this case, more comfortable for the drivers,” said Bill Sixsmith, director of marketing for International’s Severe Service Vehicle Center. “PayStar drivers spend a lot of time in the truck at the construction site and by lowering the interior cab sound, we are giving them a better work environment.”
The company says interior noise is reduced by about 3.7 decibels. The exterior noise of a commercial truck is about 85-80 decibels.
“A quieter cab can help reduce overall driver stress, help them better understand conversations with co-workers and even help drivers hear emergency sirens or announcements,” said Sixsmith.
The International PayStar was relaunched at the 2006 World of Concrete trade show. The PayStar name was used by International in the 1970s and then was retired before being re-introduced earlier this year.
“This is a big year for PayStar,” said Sixsmith. “We started off by announcing that our lightweight mixer can haul more by weighing less. Now, we’re subtracting noise levels by adding a sound insulation package. The PayStar Series continues to provide customers with upgraded features to help customers get the jobs done more efficiently and with greater comfort.”
