Jones Body Company has launched a Canadian dealer network and will begin marketing a new tilt bed body for heavy equipment hauling.

The tilt bed body, known as the crouching truck, was developed in New Zealand and offers several enhancements such as a reduced weight, low profile and less severe tilt angle compared to existing options, the company says. It is designed for Class 6 and 7 straight trucks as an alternative to Class 8 tractor-trailers.

Jones Body Company’s Model 611 is designed for loads of less than 5,216 kgs using a Class 6 chassis while the Model 718 can haul up to 8,255 kgs on a Class 7 chassis. The bed is operated by remote control so one person can control the body while driving a vehicle onto the bed.

Dealers include: Creditstone Motors, Concord, Ont.; Hino Truck Center, Toronto, Ont.; Centre du Camion UTR, Montreal, Que.; Laval Hino, Montreal, Que.; and Hino Central, Edmonton, Alta.
