K.I.D. Trailers Joins Mitsubishi Dealer Network

OAKVILLE, Ont. – K.I.D. Trailers, which recently expanded its operations, has become one the newest Mitsubishi dealers in Canada.

In January 2004, K.I.D. Trailers moved into a new location at 1090 South Service Road in Oakville, Ont. and has since taken on the Mitsubishi brand.

“It is definitely a positive business move for us. I really don’t think there are many outfits servicing Class 3 to 8 trucks in the area so it is a good growth opportunity,” said Chris Dwhytie, vice-president sales for K.I.D. Trailers.

Dwhytie’s father, Kenneth Ivan, started the business in 1982 and according to his son it has been growing ever since.

“We were at our previous location for over 20 years and it was not only time for a change, we needed some more room, which we got with this new location. We are also now visible from the QEW highway,” said Dwhytie.

K.I.D. Trailers is a full parts and service dealership for Fontaine Flatbeds and specialized floats, TrailStar aluminum platforms and now Mitsubishi medium duty trucks as well.

There are about 20 people on staff at K.I.D. Trailers and Dwhytie said that with plans to extend business hours in the near future, there may be a need to further increase staff to add a second shift.

“We are going to keep doing what we’ve been doing because it’s been working well. But we are always open to new ideas so we plan to continue improving,” said Dwhytie.
