CALEDONIA, Ont. – KRTS Transportation Specialists Inc. has designed a four-hour program to educate company drivers and owner/operators on the new HOS regulations.

Jan. 4, 2004 marks the mandatory compliance date for the new HoS regulations for all carriers and drivers and the U.S. Department of Transportation plans immediate enforcement.

The KRTS program includes discussion topics such as the objectives of the new HOS, the simplicity of the rules, record keeping requirements from the driver’s seat and driver/carrier compliance.

The program has been delivered on site to numerous trucking companies, large and small, across the province, said Kim Richardson, president of KRTS.

“Carriers need to deliver information to drivers in a timely fashion, not just from a compliance perspective but from an economic perspective too,” said Richardson.
