WINNIPEG, Man. – Alvin Lepp, the owner of Redline Transport in Rivers, Man., has been elected president of the Manitoba Trucking Association, succeeding Allan Penner of Penner International.

Lepp, 37, has operated Redline Transport since 1986. The company has 10 highway tractors hauling local general freight as well as dry freight and some grain in the west.

Looking to the coming year, he said that he plans to ensure the association continues to have a strong voice on issues like hours of service, provincial highway infrastructure and RTAC routes, and he intends to work to get more industry stakeholders involved in the association.

” I would like to see more rural involvement over the course of the next year,” he said. “We need to keep a good mix of large city companies and smaller rural companies involved at the board level.” n
