Maddocks Systems has succeeded in integrating its TruckMate dispatch system with Terion’s mobile workstation, providing for up-to-the-minute location and trip status information as well as automated exchange of data between dispatch systems and drivers.
The integration of Terion’s mobile workstation with the new Communications Manager module of the Maddocks TruckMate for Windows, Version 4.0, system was completed at A-C Motor Express in the U.S.
Terion says it expects the highly successful installation at A-C Motor Express will mean the many TruckMate users in Canada will want to take a serious look at the advantages of this new communication solution.
“With this interface being added to the suite of integrated partners working with TM4Win, we are confident in saying our product integration is among the most complete among trucking software vendors in the U.S. and Canada,” said Maddocks’ president and CEO Robert Maddocks. “The capability of our product to fully meet the needs of LTL and local pick-up and delivery operations, also adds to the strength of integration with communication programs such as Terion’s Mobile Workstation product.”
Integrating Terion Mobile Workstation with TruckMate for Windows can provide as much as a 100 percent increase in efficiency for dispatchers, when measured by the ratio of tractors to dispatchers, according to Maddocks. Two-way messaging eliminates nearly 80 percent of phone calls and reduces the number of interruptions experienced in the dispatch office.
“Dispatchers are able to communicate directly with drivers over Terion’s Mobile Workstation while the truck remains on route,” explains Bruce Caven of Terion Canada. “This kind of communication allows dispatchers to assign additional loads and pass on information more efficiently; customers benefit from quicker, more accurate service.”
At the same time, the driver can directly enter information instead of having to speak to a dispatcher. Through this integration, the driver’s Journeyman II Mobile Workstation becomes an extension of the TruckMate system.
Maddocks Systems was recently ranked number 70 on the list of BC’s Top 100 technology companies compiled annually by bctechnology.com.
