Manitoba’s top drivers crowned

WINNIPEG, Man. – Manitoba held its provincial driving championships last weekend, with Gary Good of Reimer Express Lines taking top honours as Grand Champion.

Reimer had a number of winners compete in the event.

Other winners included: Ron Loscombe, Reimer Express Lines, step van; Peter Schlichter, Reimer Express Lines, straight truck, two axle; Good, Reimer Express Lines, single/single; Remi Van Den Driessche, LaBroquerie Transfer, single/tandem; Denis Roberts TST Porter, tandem/tandem; and Ken Wiebe, Ram Messenger, Super B-train.

The Best Team award went to Reimer Express # 1, consisting of John Klassen, John Nowak, Good, Rob Trager, Trevor Mulder and Steve Collins.

Daniel Weselak of Bison Transport won the First Time Entrant Award.

And TST Porter’s Roberts won the Hal Bjornson Memorial Award for highest score.

The winners of the six classes will be representing Manitoba in the National Professional Truck Driving Championships in Moncton, N.B. Sept. 23-24.
