WINNIPEG, Man. – Motor carriers operating in Manitoba are no longer required to obtain and maintain operating authorities as of Jan. 1, 2005.
Changes to the Motor Vehicle Transport Act (MVTA) allow for-hire carriers operating in Manitoba to do so with only a valid safety rating from their base jurisdiction.
Previously, the Motor Transport Board to Public Service Vehicle granted operating authorities to carriers operating in Manitoba.
