Mats: Get the look without the cost

Kenworth Truck Company’s new hood for its on-highway W900L model with curved windshield can deliver the classic look without the traditional cost in weight gain.

Kenworth’s new hood is made with METTON LMR, a liquid molding resin, and formed using a closed-mold process, which helps to provide a smoother, more consistent hood surface.

The hood offers improved resistance to star cracks and other damage, while providing an 84-pound weight savings due to the use of a lower material density, according to Kenworth. Kenworth is making the new hood available as a retrofit item for customers currently operating W900Ls with a curved windshield. Kenworth has had prior successful experience with Metton. The Kenworth T2000 model utilizes Metton LMR in the side fairing, roof fairing, sunvisor, cab extender and lower bumper.
