Haldex Brake Systems has unveiled a number of new products that will be made available in coming months.
The highlight of Haldex’s latest additions is a new air disc brake that will be available in July, 2002.
The air disc brake has been in production for three years in Europe, and the company is eager to introduce the new system to the North American market. The design has been enhanced to meet the demands of North American commercial vehicle applications and operating conditions.
The new air disc brake will be available to fit 19.5 and 22.5 inch wheel applications.
Haldex has also expanded its automatic brake adjuster (ABA) product range, giving it the most complete line of automatic brake adjusters in the industry. Using its control arm actuation, the company’s products offer the right ABA configuration for each application.
In another announcement, Haldex introduced the new power line carrier (PLC) Select ABS system. The unit expands the electronic control unit options to focus on 2S/1M trailer ABS configurations, which allows it to accommodate 70 per cent or more of ABS trailer applications.
“This new PLC system is designed to focus on our customers’ bread and butter applications,” says Duane Stocksdale, product manager. “It’s the right size ECU platform for the majority of ABS applications.”
Also launched at the Mid-America Trucking Show, were the DRYest and PURest air dryers, designed to remove up to 99 per cent of contaminants in the compressed air system.
