Mats: Stepping up to safety, that’s a 10-4
Ten-Four Stairs Inc. has developed a solution to a common problem facing many truck drivers: chronic back pain.
The company has developed a set of stairs that can be permanently mounted on the rear of a trailer.
The stairs are mounted between the beams of any given trailer and a hydraulic hinged plate cover, which still allows for maximum load ability.
“With over 30 years in the trucking industry, I had first-hand experience with the risks posed by climbing on and off semi-trailers,” says Wilbert Hinkle, inventor and entrepreneur. “Developing a system to eliminate those risks would not only help the drivers but also have the potential to help trucking companies become more profitable by running at peak productivity levels.”
A semi-trailer enhanced with Ten-Four Stairs offers added safety to the driver by eliminating the need for ladders. Each skid resistant step is built with a closed-in step back to prevent slipping.
The system creates an ergonomically sound way to tarp, tie, secure loads and makes it possible to safely accomplish these tasks while increasing productivity and profitability.
