WINNIPEG, Man. – The Manitoba Trucking Association (MTA) has presented six scholarships to its members’ dependents.
Three of the scholarships were academic awards while the other three were apprenticeship awards.
The MTA says the academic awards went to employees or dependents of MTA members with the highest overall average in 4-40S subjects.
The apprenticeship scholarships went to the top Level 1 and Level 2 graduates employed by MTA member companies in the Transport Truck Mechanic and Transport Trailer Mechanic Apprenticeship programs.
Taking the awards were: Academic, Benjamin Campbell, Winnipeg, Man., Price Waterhouse Coopers, $1,000; Nicole Poklitar, Winnipeg, Man., Winnipeg Motor Express, $1,000; and Cory Wiebe, Winnipeg, Man., Marsh Canada Ltd., $1,000.
The apprenticeship scholarships went to: Devon Fuz, Level 1 Transport Truck Mechanic, Peterbilt Manitoba, $500; Edward Hofer, Level 1 Transport Truck Mechanic, Dallas Transport, $500; and Clinton Lavallee, Level 2 Transport Truck Mechanic, Beaver Truck Centre, $1,000.
