MTI Offers Mountain Driving Course

CASTLEGAR, B.C. – Mountain Transport Institute (MTI) has launched a new week-long Mountain Driver Training course for truckers looking to gain mountain driving experience.

Currently there is no requirement for drivers licensed in Canada to learn how to safely and properly drive a loaded Class 1 vehicle in the mountains. However, MTI specializes in training drivers how to safely operate loaded vehicles on long, steep mountain grades.

The new course will give drivers experience piloting loaded tridem or super B-train trailers through some of the most mountainous terrain in B.C.’s southern interior. The school is located within an hour of five different mountain passes allowing both new and experienced drivers to hone their skills. For information, contact Roberts at 1-877-965-3748.
