The company’s call options were trading about normal in early February and it wouldn’t explain why. Call options are agreements for a company’s shares.

“I don’t know what is going on,” said one American Stock Exchange trader.

The poison pill was put on the agenda of Navistar’s Feb. 20 annual meeting by its second largest shareholder, Gabelli Asset Management Inc. n
