DALLAS, Tex. – Hendrickson has released a new, lightweight, front air suspension and steer axle which will only be available on Freightliner trucks, and only until mid-2003.

AirTek is rated to 12,000-lbs. and consists of a 238-lb. suspension and a 274-lb. axle assembly. The unit is the first integrated design to offer trucks the chance of running on a full air platform.

The steering and tie-rod arms are integrated to increase strength and reduce weight, while the knuckle packaging delivers a 50-degree wheel cut. The knuckle’s design makes disassembly easier, eliminating the need to remove the king pin during bearing service. n
