NEW LISKEARD, Ont. – The Fifth Wheel Training Institute here has become the first school in Northern Ontario to be accredited by the Professional Truck Driver Institute for its AZ training program.

“It is important for people to know that these entry-level truck driver standards are endorsed by the Ontario Trucking Association, the Canadian Trucking Alliance, the Truckload Carriers Association, the American Trucking Associations and the Driver Training and Development Alliance,” said school manager Ed Popkie.

The voluntary program has certified 70 programs in the U.S. and Canada.

“All our students are taught the certified program,” added safety and training coordinator Kelly Carter. n
