TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) and Canadian Industrial Transportation Association (CITA) are teaming up to deliver a seminar on regulatory and market forces that impact trucking operations. The seminar, entitled Regulatory and Market Forces Impacting Trucking Operations, will be held June 20 in Mississauga. It’s designed to inform the supply chain about new trucking regulations and the impact they will have on truck fleets and their customers.

Organizers are encouraging trucking companies to attend and to bring their customers along.

Topics to be covered include: changes to Hours-of-Service regulations; cross border programs such as ACE and FAST; the increased cost of trucks and engines due to environmental regulations; load securement; fuel prices and surcharges; and current and future capacity issues.

Members of OTA, CITA and the Importers and Exporters of Canada can register for $225 per person. OTA carrier members that bring a shipper customer along can attend for only $100 (but the shipper customer must pay the full registration fee).
