Paul Harper is the new president of Diesel Capital Ltd., which is the parent company of several firms including Harper Detroit Diesel Ltd.

In this new role, Harper will be responsible for assisting in the development of long-term strategies for a group of companies held in the corporate paddock.

John Cosgrove has taken over Harper’s vacated position at Harper Detroit Diesel. He will now control of the day-to-day operations of the seven Harper Detroit Diesel-Allison locations throughout Ontario.

Tankmart International has hired John Krohnert as its newest sales representative. He will work out of the company’s Oakville, Ont. facility.

Edmonton’s long-time transportation head, Wayne Wood, has accepted a new position as director of corporate communications with the City of St. Albert. He starts his new job July 2, and the City of Edmonton will immediately begin looking for a replacement.

Shell International Petroleum’s David Pirret has been charged with the daunting task of integrating U.S. operations with newly acquired Pennzoil-Quaker State.

Currently the company’s executive vice-president of global businesses, Pirret has been handed the title of vice-president lubricants of Shell Oil Products U.S., effective June 1.

ArvinMeritor has promoted Terry O’Rourke to the position of president and chief operating officer of the largest maker of automotive exhaust systems. O’Rourke, 55, began his new job June 1 according to a written statement from the company.

O’Rourke was formerly senior vice-president of ArvinMeritor and president of the company’s light-vehicle systems unit.

Cummins Westport has tapped Guff Muench as vice-chair of the board of directors and Hugh Foden as president.

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company has named Daniel Martin to the position of general manager, Commercial Tire Sales – West.

Martin will be responsible for dealer sales, development and fleet sales, and he oversees the five commercial sales region managers in the company’s western division.

John Ribic has been named Regional Sales Manager, Ontario, for the Sameday Right-O-Way division of the Day and Ross Transportation Group.

Canada First Logistics has announced the appointment of W.E. (Bill) Williams, CTB as president and general manager.

Bruce Dufour has been named general manager, Commercial Division for IMMI. He oversees the division’s engineering, manufacturing, sales and fleet marketing.

Steve Eickenroht has been selected as director of On-Highway sales for IMMI. He oversees the division’s sales efforts for commercial vehicles.

Jim Chinni was recently named director of engineering for the commercial division at IMMI.

He now oversees product development and application engineering of IMMI products for heavy-duty trucks, off-highway vehicles, agricultural equipment and emergency vehicles as well as construction, mining and logging equipment. n
