Freightliner LLC has named Sung Lee its new general manager of manufacturing. In his position, Lee is charged with top management of manufacturing functions including production, quality, cost control, capacity planning, investment and environmental compliance. His areas of responsibility include all Freightliner LLC truck manufacturing plants and the company’s parts manufacturing business. He reports to Roger Nielsen, chief operating officer for Freightliner LLC.

Volvo Trucks North America says Scott Kress has been appointed to succeed Bill Dawson as senior vice-president of sales. For the past 22 years, Kress has held a variety of sales assignments for Mack both at the corporate and company-owned branch levels. Most recently he served as vice-president of business development and fleet sales. Dawson assumed the responsibility of senior vice-president of customer satisfaction upon the retirement of Harold Wiegel effective July 1.

Accuride has appointed Larry Taylor to be senior vice-president of sales and marketing and Robert (Bob) Nida as vice-president of technology and continuous improvement. Most recently, Taylor served as Accuride’s vice-president of sales and marketing focusing on the heavy vehicle side of Accuride’s business. Nida most recently served as Accuride’s director of continuous improvement and as interim director of operations at Accuride de Mexico.
