McCoy Bros. will lose the last of its founding family members at the end of next month with the retirement of president and chief operating officer Terry McCoy. McCoy has worked since 1966 with the business that specialized in truck springs and services in 1914. He will remain a director, while vice-president of manufacturing Victor Juchymenko will assume his duties.

Dennis L. Sandberg has been named president and general manager of Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems. Sandberg is responsible for all aspects of Meritor WABCO’s business. The company supplies the North American commercial vehicle market with a broad range of vehicle control systems, including ABS, air brake control systems, and suspension controls. Sandberg joined Rockwell Automotive in 1979 and most recently served as director, electronic products, for Meritor WABCO.

Sterling Truck Corporation has named Jole J. Bedard as general manager of Sterling Truck in Canada. Based in Mississauga, Ont., Bedard is responsible for supporting Sterling dealers’ sales activities throughout Canada.

Eaton Corp. will have a new chairman and CEO by mid-summer. Alexander Cutler has been elected to succeed Stephen R. Hardis when he retires on July 31. Cutler, 49, a 25-year veteran with Eaton, is currently Eaton’s president and COO. He will continue to serve as president when he assumes the office of chairman.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America has promoted Robert E. McDowell to executive vice-president and chief operating officer. McDowell also becomes a member of the board. He was formerly MFTA senior vice-president of operations, and has been with the company since its inception in 1985. McDowell has also held the positions of eastern regional manager, and vice-president, sales operations.

Western Star Trucks has organized a new sales group to build market share for new Solar Series trucks. Stephen J. Larkin has been named vice-president of medium-duty sales for North America and will work out of Dallas, Texas. Jerry McNair is the new Solar Series national sales manager for the U.S., reporting to Larkin. J.P. Ouellette becomes the new Solar Series national sales manager for Canada, based in Toronto, reporting to Larkin.

Hendrickson has named Steve Andrews as the new managing director of Hendrickson Europe. On the executive team since 1994, Andrews previously served as general manager, stamping operations, for Hendrickson Components. He will be based at Hendrickson’s European headquarters in Sywell, England, where he will be guiding Hendrickson’s operations and development in the European market. n
