TORONTO, Ont. – Petro-Canada’s Duron and Duron XL Synthetic Blend heavy-duty engine oils meet Cat’s new ECF-1 specification.
The ECF-1 (Engine Crankcase Fluid – 1) specification was created to help Caterpillar’s ACERT (Advanced Combustion Emissions Reduction Technology) engines meet the stringent 2002 emissions regulations.
It went into effect June 1, 2003.
ECF-1 is an engine oil that provides soot control, acid neutralization capability, maximum thermal stability and wear control while minimizing diesel engine piston deposits, according to the manufacturer.
DURON and DURON XL Synthetic Blend are formulated from the patented HT purity process Petro-Canada uses.
Petro-Canada also blends in specialty additives for longer fluid life and equipment protection from abrasive soot particles.
Both DURON and DURON XL Synthetic Blend are designed for use in a wide variety of heavy-duty engines and are suitable for use where HDEO is being consolidated for cost savings.
DURON heavy-duty engine oils are covered by warranty.
Technical and after sales service support are available, including used oil analysis and disposal, bulk storage and dispensing, and product training.
