NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ont. – The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) inducted three drivers into its Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers at its annual convention.

Leonard Long of Kraft Foods, Henry Holland of Advantage Personnel (driving for HBC Logistics) and Carol Stone of Advantage Personnel (driving for J&F Trucking) were the newest members of the Hall of Fame, which is housed on the PMTC Web site at www.pmtc.ca.

“Canada is blessed with a core of professional commercial truck drivers who accumulate and maintain safe driving records that are absolutely amazing, considering all the adverse conditions they face every day,” said PMTC president Bruce Richards.

“But only a select few match the caliber of the drivers in the PMTC/Shaw Tracking Hall of Fame. We are very grateful for the interest and support shown by Shaw Tracking that helps us sustain this Hall of Fame and celebrate the achievements of these drivers.”

Long has been driving for Kraft Foods since 1968. He started at Christie’s bread division in Toronto, transferring to the Mississauga distribution centre in 1974. Long boasts 29 years of safe driving and has a clean abstract. Long takes pride in the company trucks he operates, often staying after hours to touch up paint, change light bulbs or clean the cabs.

Holland has been working for Advantage Personnel for 21 years, driving for HBC Logistics since 1985. Just this year he received an award for completing 36 years of accident-free driving. Prior to joining Advantage Personnel, he spent 20 years working for R. Simpson Company.

Stone is in his 33rd year as a professional driver, having also spent the past seven as driver-trainer. He works for Advantage Personnel and is leased to J&F Trucking in Ajax, Ont.

Stone has a diverse driving background, having hauled B-trains in Western Canada and taken many runs into the Southern US. Stone is an active member of J&F Trucking’s Accident Review Panel.
