BORDEN, P.E.I. – Starting next month drivers using the Confederation Bridge can keep up on traffic conditions via a bridge radio station, 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.

The body regulating Canadian broadcasting is about to approve an application for a radio station that will only broadcast Confederation Bridge information.

By tuning radios to 93.9 FM, truckers approaching the 13-km span between New Brunswick and P.E.I. will have access to the latest bridge conditions, traffic reports and the weather forecast.

As well as information on upcoming events across the province, forestry reports and the latest U.S. exchange rates on the Canadian dollar.

Jack McGaw will be the voice manning the new station.

He was the host of the former CTV show Live it Up and now owns Jack McGaw Consulting in Halifax.
