Reader’s Blood Boiling

Dear Editor,

Congratulations and thank you for your column titled “Hwy 407 sets blood boiling” printed in the October edition of Truck News.

I am in the exact same position as you are…boycotting the 407 – for two years now! I too was a victim of corporate billing services. I was charged several times for the same trip and charged $50 each use, once a week.

Corporate billing claims I had no transponder, funny I only have one truck and a $250 deposit fee for transponder marked serial # XXXXXXXX, I would reply.

After trying to settle this issue over three months, I gave up and cancelled my credit card, so billing services could no longer charge my credit card without authorization, (even though I sent several letters and made several telephone calls to order a stop credit card use).

Then the billing service began charging me for late fees on top of no transponder fees, on top of usage fees, etc. I have all the documentation if you care to investigate.

Anyhow, the moral of the story is it took seven months to finally collect all my monies back although it took a few letters from a lawyer to get their attention.

Please continue to boycott the 407. I try my best to let all drivers know my problems, although it seems most drivers will not boycott it until they too are taken advantage of!
