HAWKESBURY, Ont. – Quebec trucking giant, Robert, has secured a 170,000 square-foot facility just off Hwy. 17, just east of Ottawa, Ont.

Gilles Chatelain will reportedly be in charge of managing the new facility.

The location will be a distribution centre for the large fleet which currently operates terminals relatively nearby in Hull, Que. as well as Lachute, he says.

“We’re starting to get carpenters in to work next week,” he said during an interview with Truck News on Apr. 5.

The facility, which was previously operated by Amoco, will require several upgrades and repairs to handle the massive fleet’s operations.

Chatelain isn’t expecting Robert to begin using its new digs until much later this year.

He maintains that once the facility does open, business is expected to continue as usual at the company’s two previously mentioned terminals. n
