CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – Rumble strips will be built along the shoulders of Hwy. 19 between Sayward and Woss to alert drowsy drivers and reduce accidents, the Ministry of Transportation and Highways has announced.

The $72,000 project got underway on Aug. 23 and is scheduled for completion by mid-September. Drivers should expect delays.

“Preventable accidents have happened on this section of highway over the years,” North Island MLA Glenn Robertson said. “This work will help keep drivers on the road and save lives.” n
