SASKATOON, Sask. – Team Saskatchewan has won its second consecutive national driving championships, this time in front of a home town crowd.

The team put in a strong performance at the national championships at Saskatoon Prairieland Park, with local drivers taking first place honors in five of six categories.

Saskatchewan’s team of drivers consists of: Keith Parker, step van winner, Purolator; Larry Radons, straight truck winner, Reimer Express Lines; Brian Weslowski, single-single winner, SLH; Les Bueckert, tandem-tandem winner, Earl Beebe Trucking; Marlen Peterson, train winner, Cameco Corporation; and Vern Matschke of Calac Trucking.

Parker also took home top honors as Grand Champion, while Bueckert was the best performer in the pre-trip/written exam category.

This year’s Rookie of the Year was Dennis Tallaire representing Manitoba and Reimer Express Lines.
