TORONTO, Ont. – Editorial director Lou Smyrlis has been invited to chair the Canadian Intermodal 2004 conference to be held Sept. 22-24 in Toronto.

The conference, presented by Transport Canada and Transport IQ, will bring together key industry stakeholders to discuss emerging issues in intermodal transportation.

“Terminals are blocked, wait times are extended, traffic problems are worsening and border restrictions are tightening. This is costing valuable time and money. The time for change is now,” commented conference director Noemie Wiggett.

Smyrlis, whose work was recently published by the Harvard Business School, has chaired several transportation conferences and panels in recent years with groups such as Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation, the British Columbia Trucking Association, the Canadian Human Resources Council, the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association, Supply Chain & Logistics Canada, and the Strategy Institute.
