STA hands out scholarships

REGINA, Sask. – The Saskatchewan Trucking Associa-tion’s Associate Trades has handed out a series of scholarships – three worth $1,000 each.

Jason Kachur was awarded the 2000 Highway Agencies’ $1,000 scholarship to help in his expenses at the University of Alberta’s engineering program. His father, Colin, is a driver for Westcan Bulk in Saskatoon.

Jacqui Lynn Anderson was handed an equal award to help her pursue an arts-and-science degree at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. Her father, Randy, is the director of fleet maintenance for the N. Yanke Group of Companies in Saskatoon. Both awards are handed out in memory of long-time Highway Agencies employee Ronald Meier.

Karla Lincold was awarded the 2000 STA $1,000 scholarship to help in her pursuit of a bachelor-of-education degree at the University of Regina. Her father, Shane, owns Action Express, Regina. n
