LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Proheat Gen 4 is a new auxiliary power and climate control system, which Teleflex says, raises the bar on idle reduction units and how they should be manufactured.

With over 15 years of generator engineering, Proheat Gen 4 provides cooling, heating and electricity along with comfort and reliability, says Alan Smith, national sales manager for Teleflex.

With 4,000 watts of 115-volt household power, 10,000 BTU/hr of heating and 12,000 BTU of cooling, says Smith, Proheat Gen 4 can offer a total package for today’s trucker.

Proheat Gen 4 is designed to reduce operating expenses from day one. It eliminates non-productive truck engine idling, which reduces fuel expenses and extends the life of the truck engine. Eighty per cent less fuel is burned when the Gen 4 is used during rest or downtime.

“We’re making a good case as to why drivers should have these installed in their trucks,” says Smith. “We are making it easy for drivers and fleets, they have been asking for this and we have improved upon our previous models to offer an even better product.”

The auxiliary power unit provides regular household power, ample battery charging and coolant heat for the truck engine. The oil, air and fuel filters are located for easy access with servicing intervals that coincide with regular maintenance schedules on the truck engine.
