Tetrault is Manitoba team champion

WINNIPEG, Man. – Tetrault Transport was the big winner at this weekend’s Manitoba Driving Championships, garnering the coveted Team Champion title.

The team, which included a combination of drivers from Tetrault and La Broquerie Transfer, included Bob Mireault who won the straight truck category; Fern Boily who placed second in the single-single; Remi van den Driessche who won the single-tandem; and Noel Laurin who placed second in the tandem-tandem.

Gary Funk of Big Freight Systems, however, won the Grand Champion title, placing first in the tandem-tandem competition, and winning the Top First Time Entrant Award. Don Mustard of Reimer Express Lines placed first in the single-single category, while teammate Gary Babcock topped competitors in the B-train category.

The winners will represent the province at the National Championships, Sept. 21 to 24. n
