SAINT-LAURENT, Que. -Trans Force has announced that it plans to acquire flatbed specialist Entreprises R.R. Mondor in a deal that was to close in July.

“This transaction reflects our commitment to expand our transportation network’s geographic coverage and its capacity to carry all types of goods,” said TransForce president and chief executive officer Alain Bedard. “Since Entreprises R.R. Mondor covers both Canada and the United States, it strengthens our presence in the specialized flatbed transport market, enabling us to offer our customers better access to a much larger territory.”

TransForce operates LTL, TL, specialized transport, logistics and warehousing operations in Canada and the U.S.

Entreprises R.R. Mondor will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of TransForce and operate independently, under its existing name. Raymond Mondor and his team will continue to manage the fleet of 100 tractors and trailers, and its 80 employees and 14 owner/operators.
