Transportation Key Issue in Calgary Election

CALGARY, Alta. – Calgary’s incumbent Mayor Dave Bronconnier is vowing to make transportation a priority as he seeks re-election this month. Upon launching his campaign, “Mayor Bronco” said he will focus on three key issues: transportation, the environment and accessibility of the average citizen at City Hall.

“In every quadrant of the city, there is construction underway and we need more of it,” he said.

Some of Bronconnier’s opponents said the mayor is “obsessed” with transportation.

“We can’t afford this for another three years,” mayor hopeful Allan Foster, told local media. “They’re spending a whole bunch of money on these roads and what it’s doing is just moving the congestion down half-a-mile.”
