Safety (1959) will continue to operate out of its Markham, Ont. head office under president Gerry Wigg and vice-president managing-director Mary Anne Matte. Steve Palmer will continue as chairman. Palmer will also be the president of Safety (Atlantic), which operates out of Hartland, N.B.

Both specialize in insuring long-haul trucking companies. With more than 10,000 clients and $45 million in premiums, The Safety Group claims it is now one of the largest truck insurance brokers in Canada. n
