FALCONER, N.Y. – Truck-Lite has purchased the assets of Raydyot Ltd. of Birmingham, England — a maker of mirrors and lighting for the worldwide heavy-duty truck market.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

“The acquisition of Raydyot is our first major step in developing Truck-Lite into the ‘See and Be Seen’ company,” said Truck-Lite CEO Stephen Davis. “Our goal is to be the premier safety lighting and visibility products supplier in the world, and Raydyot is an excellent fit for our strategic plans.”

Raydyot has two manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom, as well as operating relationships in Brazil, India, and China. Its major OEM customers include Scania, Volvo, ERF, and DAF.

Company sales in 1999 exceeded US $20 million.

Truck-Lite produces lighting, wiring harnesses, and safety accessories, with sales of more than US $100 million. n
