Truck News on the grow

CALGARY, Alta. – Truck News has hired James Menzies as its new assistant editor.

“James is going to make a wonderful addition to our staff. He has a background in daily newspaper reporting and photography,” says John Curran, Truck News editor.

Menzies spent the last three years as an editor with Canada’s largest publisher of computer manuals. He will now be in charge of the publication’s newly created Western Canada news bureau and can be reached at 403-275-3160.

“As a truly national publication, this move makes complete sense to me,” says Curran. “Given the diverse nature of the Canadian industry, I don’t know how magazines can claim to be national without an editorial presence west of Ontario.”

At the same time, Matthew Sylvain has been promoted to the position of news editor.

“Matthew has advanced our news coverage a great deal,” says Curran, “especially in Atlantic Canada, which remains his primary area of focus.” n
