Truck World hours should be different

Dear Editor,

I found the exhibitors at Truck World 2000 helpful and informative. Most were willing to take their time and explain what it is they were selling or showing, and I had several long conversations with potential employers. The trucks for the show and shine were spectacular.

But there were problems.

You could tell this show was set up by trucking company owners because it was open on Thursday and Friday — two of the busiest working days of the week for professional drivers. The hours of operation, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., are the times that most drivers, small company owners, and owner/operators are working.

On the Friday, a lot of exhibitors started shutting things down at 5 p.m. And there was no Sunday show.

Overall, the show was enjoyable, but the hours could be improved.
